Sources: 41. Developments: 4. Following a four-hour White House dinner featuring Bill Maher, Kid Rock, and Stephen A. Smith, the relationship between President Donald Trump and Maher has become strained. During the October 15 gathering, which Kid Rock described as ‘epic’, participants discussed topics including socialism, communism, the war in Iran, and funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). While Maher noted Trump was ‘relaxed, gracious, and informal’ and Smith observed that the president was hospitable, the interaction led to significant public friction. Despite Trump initially suggesting that guests ‘like me a lot more than people understand’, he later launched a 1,323-word attack against Maher on Truth Social, marking his longest entry on the platform to date. In the post, Trump labeled the comedian a ‘complete and total loser’ and a ‘sleazebag’, specifically targeting Maher’s comments regarding California voter fraud, his show’s ratings, and his stances on nuclear weapons and Iran. Trump also branded Maher a ‘pothead’ and questioned the use of a ‘laughter machine’ on the program. Trump disputed Maher’s account of the meeting’s duration, characterizing the dinner as a ‘waste of time’ and claiming it lasted approximately two hours rather than four. In addition to personal attacks on Maher and his producer, Chuck LaBella, Trump suggested he might relocate the White House press corps to free up space. While Trump praised former press secretary Karoline Leavitt for her defense of the administration during her appearance on Maher’s program, he accused the show of unfair treatment. Maher maintained that the face-to-face setting allowed him to voice criticisms that are often ignored in written media. ## Claims - President Trump hosted a dinner on Thursday night with Bill Maher, Kid Rock, and Stephen A.
