DP World has secured a 10-year extension for its multi-purpose terminal concession at the Port of Luanda in Angola, extending operations until 2051.

To support this extension, the company is committing an additional US$90 million over the next two years to modernize infrastructure and equipment. The expansion project aims to more than double the terminal’s annual design capacity from 500,000 to approximately 1.2 million TEUs. Key physical upgrades include increasing the terminal area from 27 to 37 hectares, lengthening the quay by 222 metres, and acquiring new ship-to-shore and gantry cranes. These improvements are intended to allow the facility to handle two Post-Panamax vessels simultaneously and strengthen Luanda’s role as a maritime gateway for Angola and regional markets.
