The sixth season of ‘Drag Race España’ is scheduled to premiere on Atresplayer on September 27, 2026. The new edition features a redesigned set and workshop, a 50,000 euro prize, and a judging panel consisting of Supremme de Luxe, Javier Calvo, Javier Ambrossi, Ana Locking, and singer Chanel. This season marks a milestone for the franchise by including a drag king, Marcus Massalami (the persona of artist and activist Melisa Meseguer), in the twelve-person cast. Meseguer utilizes the character to explore and deconstruct masculinity through performance. Ahead of the premiere, judge and designer Ana Locking emphasized the program’s social significance, stating its ability to bring drag culture into mainstream spaces such as theaters and galleries. She noted that the show serves as a tool to “challenge rising far-right discourses regarding gender and identity,” while providing visibility and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community. Separately, Violet Chachki, winner of the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race USA, has confirmed a performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina, scheduled for October 9 at Deseo Club. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-26: Drag Race España season 6 to premiere on Atresplayer Drag Race España season 6 premieres September 27 on Atresplayer, featuring a new cast including the show’s first drag king and emphasizing the social impact of drag culture. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/drag-race-espaa-season-6-to-feature-first-drag-king ### 2026-09-24: Drag culture updates: Violet Chachki in Argentina and new Drag Race España season Violet Chachki is set to perform in Buenos Aires on October 9, while Atresplayer launches the sixth season of ‘Drag Race España’ featuring a new cast and judging panel. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/drag-culture-updates-violet-chachki-in-argentina-and-new-drag-race-espaa-season --- Cite as: Drag Race franchise updates.
