Dravske elektrarne Maribor (DEM) has finished a multi-year cycle of bridge renovations across the Zlatoličje and Formin hydroelectric power plant channels. The program involved repairing approximately 15 to 16 bridges, including the replacement of road surfaces, railings, concrete structures, and underwater supports.

With these renovations complete, DEM is transitioning to a major reconstruction project for the Formin hydroelectric power plant and the Markovci reservoir. Scheduled to run from mid-2026 through 2029, the project includes replacing two aggregates, remediating the inlet channel, and renovating six flow fields. These upgrades aim to increase the installed capacity of HE Formin from 116 MW to 130.65 MW, a 12.6% increase expected to raise annual energy production by roughly 7%.
