Democratic Republic of the Congo Prime Minister Judith Suminwa has focused on addressing national instability and infrastructure development through both diplomatic and domestic initiatives. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Suminwa advocated for a national dialogue to tackle the structural causes of instability and consolidate national unity. She emphasized that peace efforts must transform natural resources into tools for prosperity and called for international solidarity to manage the displacement of millions of Congolese citizens, as well as the ongoing Ebola epidemic in the east. Domestically, Suminwa closed the 12th Expo Béton, an annual construction and infrastructure summit. Emphasizing a transition from discussion to implementation, she stated, ‘Tolobi pe mingi, sik’oyo tosala’ (‘We have talked a lot, now let us act’).
