In the Norte de Santander region of Colombia, armed groups have increasingly utilized explosive-laden drones to target security forces. An attack in the Catatumbo region’s El Carmen locality resulted in the death of Sergeant Second Yuver Antonio Gutiérrez Torres and wounded four soldiers of the 10th Special Energy and Road Battalion.

Following this, a series of drone strikes targeted police installations in the El Zulia jurisdiction, specifically the La Ye de Astilleros substation, as well as facilities in the Petrólea and Campo Dos sectors of Tibú. While these subsequent attacks caused explosions and material damage, no officers or civilians were reported injured.
