Law enforcement operations in Bangladesh have resulted in several drug-related arrests and seizures. In Kishoreganj, the Special Reserve Battalion (SRB-14) arrested two women during separate operations. One individual, Shirina Begum, was apprehended on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional highway with 2,150 yaba tablets, while Jasmoni Akter was arrested at the Balikhola ferry ghat with 9 kg of cannabis.

Following these incidents, a raid at the ‘Dolonchapa’ women’s hostel in Cox’s Bazar led to the arrest of a female student from Cox’s Bazar Government College. Authorities seized 20,000 yaba tablets from her room. The student stated the drugs were sent to her via a parcel from an acquaintance, a claim that is currently under investigation by the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station.
