Ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Creamfields electronic dance music festival at Daresbury Estate, Cheshire Police conducted pre-event searches that uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs buried at the site.

Following the conclusion of the festival, which hosted 80,000 attendees and 55,000 campers, police reported a total of 122 incidents and 38 arrests. Authorities seized illegal drugs valued at £246,000, the majority of which were nitrous oxide. Superintendent Blizard noted that while drug seizures at the festival gates were lower than in previous years, nitrous oxide remains a primary concern, highlighting that its classification as a Class C substance has increased its cost.
