Désiré Doué has experienced fluctuations in his role and performance at Paris Saint-Germain and with the France national team.

Initially, the 21-year-old winger saw a decline in playing time and influence at PSG, as the strong form of Ferran Torres provided manager Luis Enrique with alternative tactical options. While some critics questioned his efficiency, representatives and former international Samuel Umtiti suggested the dip was a matter of form or fatigue following an intensive competitive season.

Following a period of success that included a Champions League title, Doué has since focused on improving his clinical finishing. He has identified composure and goal-scoring efficiency as his primary areas for development for both his club and his country. Recently, Doué has remained a key figure for the France national team under manager Zinédine Zidane, notably contributing to a match against Belgium.

Following his international performances, PSG manager Luis Enrique praised Doué, describing him as ‘a machine’. Enrique highlighted the player’s mental readiness and professional attitude, noting that his ability to remain prepared whether on the bench or in training is a rare and valuable quality.

In club-related news, PSG’s Warren Zaïre-Emery has been named as one of 25 finalists for the 2026 Golden Boy award. Zaïre-Emery is the only PSG player on the shortlist, seeking to follow in the footsteps of Doué, who won the trophy in 2025.
