Dubai is undertaking significant large-scale infrastructure and urban development projects. Dubai Airports is preparing to award Dh55 billion in construction contracts for the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) by the end of 2026. Chief executive Paul Griffiths noted that Dh13 billion in contracts are already under construction, part of what he described as ‘the world’s largest airport transition programme by a very significant margin.’

In a separate major development, Dubai Holding signed a record AED 5 billion construction contract with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East. This agreement involves the development of a new corporate headquarters and the Jumeirah Residences Emirates Towers, which will feature 754 luxury residences.
