Sources: 4. Developments: 2. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has implemented new regulatory measures and inspection models for private schools. These reforms include granting schools more flexibility to adjust operational hours to mitigate traffic congestion, provided they receive KHDA approval. A central component of the reform is a revamped inspection system that utilizes artificial intelligence to direct oversight toward specific areas of need. Under this new protocol, schools will receive as little as 24 hours’ notice for inspections, a significant reduction from the previous one-week notice period. This change is intended to ensure evaluators observe “authentic, everyday teaching practices” rather than curated operations. To manage this transition, school leaders are focusing on continuous self-evaluation and internal reviews. Additionally, the KHDA plans to introduce an Education Cost Index by April 2027 to account for economic indicators like inflation, while school fee increases will remain linked to the most recent approved inspection assessments. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-14: Dubai schools prepare for new KHDA inspection protocols Dubai schools are bracing for new KHDA inspections featuring a 24-hour notice period to ensure authentic classroom standards, while UAE educators prepare students for post-mid-term assessments. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dubai-schools-prepare-for-new-khda-inspection-protocols ### 2026-10-02: Dubai KHDA introduces new private school regulations and inspection models Dubai's KHDA is introducing new private school regulations, including flexible school timings to ease traffic and a revamped inspection model using AI and 24-hour notice visits. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dubai-khda-introduces-new-private-school-regulations-and-inspection-models --- Cite as: Dubai KHDA private school regulatory reforms.
