Law enforcement activities in the Netherlands have targeted various forms of financial and criminal violations. In The Hague, a large-scale operation involving inspections of hospitality businesses and vehicle controls uncovered illegal sales of cigarettes, vapes, and snus, alongside significant tax irregularities. Authorities previously identified over 1.8 million euros in unpaid motor vehicle tax during these inspections.

Recent enforcement actions in the Duindorp and Scheveningen areas of The Hague resulted in the recovery of nearly 200,000 euros in unpaid motor vehicle taxes. During these inspections, the Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration examined 38 vehicles, identifying over 190,000 euros in total tax debt. Notably, one individual paid 100,000 euros in outstanding debt immediately upon notification during a roadside check. Concurrently, the Municipality of The Hague seized twelve vehicles for 78,000 euros in unpaid debts and issued wheel clamps to nine vehicles for outstanding parking fines.

The operation also integrated traffic safety checks. Out of 100 vehicles inspected at Dr. Lelykade, 49 drivers received citations for offenses such as driving without a license, failing to show identification, not wearing seatbelts, and mobile phone use. Police also utilized drug-sniffing dogs to seize illegal substances, arrested drivers for driving under the influence, and inspected 28 fatbikes for illegal speed modifications.

In a separate development, a months-long investigation into drug trafficking led to the arrest of a 55-year-old man in Hoofddorp, Amsterdam, and Bennebroek on suspicion of laundering criminal proceeds. During this investigation, police seized assets valued at approximately one million euros, including a ship in IJmuiden, a retail property in Amsterdam, and a passenger car.
