Dutch libraries are initiating various community-focused programs and literacy awareness campaigns.

Initial activities scheduled for September include seasonal workshops in the Groningen region, such as health-related plant workshops, and the resumption of children’s reading sessions in the Renkum area to support language development.

Following these local initiatives, the broader ‘Week of Reading and Writing’ is set for September 8 to 15. This campaign aims to address challenges in reading, writing, arithmetic, and digital literacy. Efforts include exhibitions in Zevenaar using virtual reality to simulate literacy obstacles, and collaborative regional support in Midden-Limburg through information kits and digital proficiency training via the Digi-Taalhuis.
