Participants stressed the need for strategic plans to prevent youth migration and to better integrate the region with Democritus University of Thrace. Meanwhile, the People's Rally of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace has criticized the administration for prioritizing EU aligned growth over social needs. The group has proposed measures such as abolishing VAT on essential goods, removing special consumption taxes on energy and fuel, and implementing profit caps on refineries to alleviate social pressures.
