The Eastern Province Municipality in Dammam continues to implement urban development and environmental sustainability initiatives aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.

Environmental efforts have reached significant milestones, with the municipality completing the planting of approximately 2.09 million diverse trees between 2025 and June 2026. Recent activities included planting over 32,000 trees across central, western, and eastern Dammam, specifically targeting sites such as the Emirate triangles and 11th Street. The municipality maintains a goal to plant an additional 1.5 million trees throughout 2026. Ongoing projects include seed dispersal and the afforestation of major routes, including Airport Road, Abu Hadriyah Road, and King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road, alongside mangrove planting and campsite afforestation in Dammam and Al Nairyah.

In terms of community and infrastructure development, the municipality is expanding its public-private partnerships. Following previous discussions regarding social impact and sports park investments, a new memorandum of understanding has been signed with Mouwasat Medical Services. This agreement focuses on developing a park and sports track in Dammam’s Uhud neighborhood. Spanning over 11,000 square meters near Mouwasat Hospital, the project will include landscaping, lighting, paving, and children’s play areas to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance the local urban landscape.
