Echo and the Bunnymen are preparing to release their upcoming studio album, ‘Apples For Isaac’, scheduled for September 18 via BMG. This project represents the band’s first album of original material in 12 years since 2014’s ‘Meteorites’. 

Following the release of the single ‘The Light That Surrounds You’, the band released a third single, ‘Take Me by the Hand’. The album was primarily recorded at Doghouse Studio near Henley and features contributions from the late Clem Burke, the former Blondie drummer, who performed on ten of the eleven tracks. 

Vocalist Ian McCulloch, who produced and mixed the album alongside Alan Moulder and Andrea Wright, described the work as one of the band’s most complete achievements. The musical direction aims to blend post-punk tension with psychedelia, with McCulloch noting influences from artists such as David Bowie and Lou Reed.
