Developmental initiatives in Chile’s Maule region have focused on both technological advancements in the forestry sector and large-scale public investment. 

In the energy sector, efforts have been made to improve biomass production through new technology. In Molina, the implementation of ‘Trocknner’ heat pump systems, supported by the Ministry of Energy, has enabled more efficient wood drying to reduce smoke and increase heat output. Regional authorities have also held meetings to discuss transforming forest byproducts into energy to strengthen the local biofuel economy.

Complementing these sectoral improvements, the Chilean government has proposed a 2027 Budget that includes 151 investment projects for the region. Totaling approximately $179.891 billion, this proposal aims to stimulate economic growth, employment, and infrastructure development, representing an increase in public spending over previous projections.
