The ECU Perth City campus, a 73,000sqm development by Multiplex, has been awarded the 2026 Australian Construction Achievement Award. The project transformed the Yagan Square site into Perth’s first inner-city university, designed to accommodate roughly 10,000 students and staff.

Construction required managing complex engineering constraints, including building above live rail tunnels and the Perth Busport while maintaining active transport operations. The development is projected to provide approximately $7.5 billion in long-term economic benefits to Western Australia.

The project was also recognized for its socio-economic impact, having supported 122 apprentices and trainees, directing over 95 per cent of expenditure to Western Australian businesses, and allocating $32 million in work to Indigenous enterprises.
