Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa has appointed Luis Alberto Jaramillo Granja as the new ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the People’s Republic of China. Formalized through Executive Decree 473, the appointment follows approval from the Chinese government. 

Jaramillo Granja, an industrial engineer with a background in trade and government roles including Director General of the National Customs Service, replaces María Soledad Córdova Montero, who has held the position since January 2024.
