Ecuadorian LigaPro Serie A clubs have entered a ten-match relegation hexagonal phase to determine which teams will remain in the top flight for the 2027 season. The bottom two teams in the final standings will be relegated to Serie B.

Mushuc Runa SC entered the competition in 11th place with 38 points, marking their second consecutive season fighting to avoid relegation. Deportivo Cuenca followed closely with 36 points, though the club faced internal instability due to the absence of an official head coach. Other participating clubs include Técnico Universitario, Orense SC, Delfín SC, and Manta FC.

During the second round of the hexagonal, Delfín SC achieved a 3-2 comeback victory against Mushuc Runa at Jocay Stadium. Mushuc Runa established an early 2-0 lead through goals from Tufiño and Ronny Biojó. However, Delfín responded before halftime with goals from Jefferson Arce and Erick Zúñiga. Following significant VAR intervention that disallowed goals by Danny Luna and Franco Ayunta, Maykel Reyes scored the winning goal for Delfín in the 87th minute, securing three vital points.

In other recent action, Manta FC secured a 1-0 victory over Técnico Universitario at Jocay Stadium, with the winning goal coming from an Olympic goal by Joaquín Vergés.
