The Edo State government has commenced construction of a modern, two-story general hospital in Iguobazuwa, the headquarters of the Ovia South West Local Government Area. Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa performed the groundbreaking ceremony on behalf of Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The facility is designed to serve as an ultra-modern secondary healthcare and referral center for residents of the Ovia South West and Ovia North East areas, as well as the Ovia Federal Constituency. The project aims to reduce the need for patients to travel to Benin City for medical treatment.

Planned infrastructure for the hospital includes a pharmacy, a mortuary, and residential quarters for medical staff. The inclusion of staff housing is intended to facilitate 24-hour medical services and emergency rotations.
