The academic year in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNŽ) began with a one-week delay compared to other counties due to extreme heat. During the commencement, officials including HNŽ Government President Marija Buhač and Mostar Mayor Mario Kordić addressed the community, with Kordić emphasizing driver safety near schools.

Infrastructure investments were highlighted in the Prozor-Rama municipality, including hundreds of thousands of KM for energy efficiency and renovations at various primary and secondary schools. The regional government also provided free textbooks and initiated curricular reforms.

Following the start of the term, the HNŽ government recognized academic excellence by presenting Rector's awards to 24 outstanding students from universities in Mostar, Sarajevo, and Zagreb. The ceremony, led by President Buhač and Minister Adnan Velagić, sought to encourage students to contribute to the local economy and community.
