Community and academic institutions in the Americas are implementing various programs to support child development and family engagement.

Initial efforts focused on community and religious initiatives. In the United States, the Centro para Familias Hispanas and Wake County Smart Start introduced a virtual leadership program for parents of young children covering behavior management and routines. In Veracruz, Mexico, the Diocese of Veracruz launched a 10-session workshop series led by Father Guillermo Arturo Ramírez to help parents foster values and habits within the home.

Subsequent developments saw universities expanding these educational efforts. The Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez in Mexico hosted its 27th ‘Universidad Infantil’, allowing children to experience campus life and academic environments. In Chile, the Universidad de Talca established the ‘Escuela para Familias’, providing free workshops for caregivers on topics such as autism inclusion, emotional regulation, and nutrition for children aged 5 to 12. This program, running from October 3 to December 12, also includes sessions on language stimulation, first aid, and the impact of screen use.
