The Eftychia Project organized its 5th annual meeting for Greek adoptees from October 11 to 17, 2026. The initiative facilitates a journey of return for individuals born in Greece who were adopted and raised abroad, primarily in the United States, to help them reconnect with their biological families and Greek identity.

During the tour, participants traveled through various regions including Athens, Thessaloniki, Vergina, Meteora, Metsovo, Ioannina, Arta, and Messolonghi. The group visited the Kalavryta Execution Site and met with the Mayor of Kalavryta, Thanasis Papadopoulos. The Mayor noted that for the thousands of children adopted during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, such efforts help fulfill a “deep need to understand their identity and connection to their homeland.”

The organization was founded by Eftychia Noula, who was raised in Texas and established the project after locating her own biological mother in 2017.
