Egypt is pursuing several initiatives to develop its mining sector through international partnerships and human capital investment.

In early September, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi launched a capacity-building program for the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) in collaboration with Australia’s Murdoch University. This program, which began with an initial cohort of 10 staff members, focuses on strategic regulation, governance, and critical minerals to support Egypt’s efforts to attract international investment.

Later in the month, Minister Badawi met with executives from Worley to discuss further cooperation. These discussions centered on leveraging international expertise to enhance mining infrastructure, processing facilities, and technical training for Egyptian personnel.
