The Egyptian national football team, under head coach Hossam Hassan, is preparing for two qualifying matches against Malawi for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The first match is scheduled for November 13 at Cairo International Stadium, with the return leg following on November 17 at Bingu International Stadium.

Egypt currently leads its group on goal difference with four points, following a draw with Angola and a 5-0 win over South Sudan. Expected squad members include defender Mohamed Abdelmonem and Al Ahly players Emam Ashour and Mohamed Hany.

However, reports indicate that Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan will be absent from these matches due to FIFA suspensions resulting from an incident involving officiating during the 2026 World Cup.
