The Egyptian government has entered into framework agreements to settle 98.1 billion EGP in historical debts owed to the National Investment Bank. These settlements involve the National Media Authority and the New Urban Communities Authority, addressing financial obligations dating back to the 1980s.

To resolve the debt with the National Media Authority, 88.3 billion EGP will be settled following the cancellation of 51.4 billion EGP in accumulated interest and late fees. This process includes the transfer of 44 unused assets, such as lands and buildings valued at 18.06 billion EGP, to the bank, alongside the release of pledged shares in NileSat and Media Production City.

A separate agreement addresses 9.8 billion EGP in debts owed by the New Urban Communities Authority. These measures are intended to reduce domestic public debt and strengthen the financial standing of state entities to support national development projects.
