Şehitkamil Mayor Umut Yılmaz has engaged in various social and infrastructure initiatives in Gaziantep. Initially, Yılmaz inspected the construction of the Gaziantep Autism Foundation School, a project on a 10,000-square-meter plot intended to provide education, sports, and social development for 150 children.

Following this, the Mayor addressed a social inclusion issue involving a child from Hatay who was reportedly denied access to a play area at a local shopping mall. Yılmaz hosted the child and his family at Agro Park to provide support and activities, stating that a child’s happiness is a “primary priority.”
