In July 2026 the municipal agency PIMESA approved a €37.5 million urbanisation plan to expand Elche Parque Empresarial. The scheme adds more than half a million square metres of industrial and tertiary space, new roads, roundabouts, bike lanes, green areas and hydraulic infrastructure designed to improve flood resilience.

Later that month the city granted an environmental licence for a €5 million four‑star hotel to be built within the same park, near the IMED Hospital. The 7,700‑square‑metre hotel will provide 98 rooms, a spa, pool, restaurant and parking, creating about 50 direct jobs and increasing local tourism capacity by roughly 15 percent.

Together, the projects illustrate a coordinated push to broaden Elche’s industrial base while also attracting tourism and service‑sector activity within the expanded business park.
