# Electric bus fleet expansion in Croatia

Croatian cities are expanding their electric public transport fleets. In Dubrovnik, the transport company Libertas introduced 12 new MAN Lion’s City 12E fully electric low-floor buses as part of an electrification project. Mayor Mato Franković stated the transition from fossil fuels to electricity would lead to energy savings, while plans were announced for additional charging stations worth approximately 2.5 million euros.

Following this, Zagreb introduced 62 new electric buses into its ZET-operated system, including MAN Lion’s City models and Iveco midi-buses. This expansion involved a total investment of approximately 56.8 million euros, supported by the European Union’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the City of Zagreb budget. To accommodate the fleet, a new electric bus depot was established in Podsused featuring 67 charging stations. Zagreb aims to purchase a total of 500 electric buses over the next decade to achieve full electrification.
