Pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly is marking its 150th anniversary with various commemorative activities in Italy.

In late September 2026, the company held a week-long event in Florence titled ‘Guardare Lontano’ (Looking Far) at the Forte di Belvedere. The celebration focused on scientific dissemination, digital art, and cultural meetings. Elias Khalil, President and General Manager of Lilly Italy Hub, noted that the anniversary aims to look toward a future integrating science, artificial intelligence, and real-world evidence.

Following the cultural events, Lilly Italia organized its largest-ever Italian edition of the Global Day of Service. This initiative involved nearly 700 employees participating in 30 volunteer shifts across nine projects in Florence and Sesto Fiorentino. Collaborating with nine non-profit organizations, the company invested over 100,000 euros to address social issues such as mental health, child protection, and food poverty.
