Emilio Bonifacio, captain of the Tigres del Licey, announced the upcoming release of a ten-episode documentary series titled ‘64 días, el legado’ (64 Days, the Legacy). The series, scheduled to premiere on October 19 via his YouTube channel, is intended to provide an unscripted look at his two-decade baseball career, focusing on his discipline, family, and the emotional demands of leadership.

On the day of the series premiere, Bonifacio achieved a significant professional milestone by setting a new franchise record for the Tigres del Licey. He became the team’s all-time leader in runs scored, reaching 317 career runs and surpassing the previous record of 316 held by Cesarín Gerónimo. The record was set during a 10th-inning walk-off victory against the Leones del Escogido at the Estadio Quisqueya Juan Marichal. After entering the game as a pinch runner for Sergio Alcántara, Bonifacio stole third base and scored on a passed ball by catcher Randy Florentino to secure a 5-4 win.

Following this, Bonifacio reached the 500-hit milestone during the regular season, becoming only the eighth player in Tigres del Licey history to achieve this feat. He now sits two hits away from surpassing Anderson Hernández for seventh place on the franchise’s all-time hits list. Bonifacio remains the franchise leader in stolen bases with 124.

His career includes leading the Dominican Republic national team to an Olympic bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Games and earning five MVP titles in the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
