In its pharmaceutical division, the carrier surpassed one million shipments through its Dubai hub, totaling more than 800,000 tonnes of cargo. This achievement marks the 10th anniversary of its Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certified pharmaceutical product. The operation utilizes over 16,500 square meters of certified storage at Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports, supported by a fleet of over 55 cool dollies to maintain temperature integrity. Simultaneously, the airline has expanded its air freight presence in South America. Since March 2026, seven weekly cargo frequencies have been added to cities including Buenos Aires, Bogotá, São Paulo, and Quito. This expansion has supported regional export growth, including a 57% year-on-year rise in Argentine exports and a 14% increase in shipments from Ecuador, where flowers account for over 90% of the cargo transported. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-10: Emirates SkyCargo expands South American air freight operations Emirates SkyCargo has expanded South American operations with seven new weekly cargo frequencies, driving a 57% export increase in Argentina and a 14% rise in Ecuador, primarily through flower shipments. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/emirates-skycargo-expands-south-american-air-freight-operations ### 2026-10-01: Emirates SkyCargo surpasses one million pharmaceutical shipments Emirates SkyCargo has surpassed one million pharmaceutical shipments through its Dubai hub, marking 10 years of its GDP-certified specialized transport service. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/emirates-skycargo-surpasses-one-million-pharmaceutical-shipments --- Cite as: Emirates SkyCargo operational expansion.
