In Montenegro and Serbia, renewable initiatives are advancing. Montenegro has signed a grid connection contract for the EUR 50 million Velestovo photovoltaic project, which includes an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS). In Montenegro, utility maintenance at the Trebinje and Dubrovnik hydroelectric plants, alongside repairs to a hydro-technical tunnel, led to scheduled water supply restrictions in Herceg Novi from September 7 to September 17. Meanwhile, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) reported that its pricing and discount policies, including approximately four million euros allocated for customer discounts, have helped maintain stability despite record energy consumption and a growing household customer base.
