England entered an ODI tri-series in Pakistan featuring Pakistan and Sri Lanka with a stated intention to employ an “aggressive and attacking style of cricket” to pressure opponents. Head coach Brendon McCullum noted the importance of adaptability and smart decision-making to compete against strong subcontinent sides on their home turf.

Following three consecutive losses, England was eliminated from the tournament. They concluded their campaign with a 55-run victory over Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, driven by a four-wicket haul from spinner Liam Dawson. McCullum described the campaign as a “vital learning experience” for the upcoming ODI World Cup, noting that management will review the series to refine strategy and team selection over the next 12 months.
