Environmental cleanup operations have been conducted in various regions of Turkey to address waste accumulation in sensitive ecosystems.

In Muğla, a coordinated effort involving municipal departments and ecological associations targeted the Akyaka Azmağı waterway. This underwater and shoreline operation removed over 80 kilograms of debris, including tires, plastics, and metal, to protect the nationally recognized natural heritage site.

Following this, authorities in Datça conducted a large-scale cleanup along the steep coastal slopes of the Datça–Marmaris Highway. Using ropes to navigate difficult terrain, volunteers removed over 2 tons of waste, such as construction rubble, tires, and plastic, from the ‘66 Bük Mevkii’ area. Officials noted that the pollution, often left by motorists, threatens the Datça–Bozburun Special Environmental Protection Area and its rare species.
