The Eredivisie is set to resume for matchday eight, beginning Friday, October 9, with PSV facing sc Heerenveen. This specific fixture was rescheduled from Saturday to Friday to accommodate PSV’s European schedule.

Other scheduled matches for the weekend include Go Ahead Eagles vs. Sparta Rotterdam, Feyenoord vs. AZ, Fortuna Sittard vs. FC Twente, and Ajax vs. NEC on Saturday, followed by several fixtures on Sunday.

PSV manager Peter Bosz is navigating selection challenges ahead of the Heerenveen match. The squad is currently missing Ricardo Pepi, Alassane Pléa, and Sam Lammers due to injury. Regarding international returns, Ivan Perisic is expected to return to the squad following duty with Croatia, though his playing time may be limited. Sergino Dest may also miss the match due to travel and rest requirements following his appearance for the United States.

Historically, PSV has dominated this matchup, winning four of the last five encounters, including an 8-0 victory in April 2024.
