Esporte Clube Vitória dismissed head coach Jair Ventura on November 2, 2026, following a 2-0 defeat against Coritiba and a period of declining performance. Ventura, who had previously helped the club secure Série A status and win the Copa do Nordeste, left with a 49% success rate. Assistant coaches Emílio Faro and Antônio Macedo also departed the club.

Following a subsequent 3-0 loss to Fluminense, football director Sérgio Papellin confirmed the club is actively searching for a new manager. Papellin noted that some potential candidates have declined offers because of the condensed remaining schedule. The club seeks a professional to manage the end of the current campaign and assist with planning for the 2027 season. Cleber Santos was appointed as interim manager during this transition.
