After losing the first leg 0-1 in Misrata, the Tunisian side leveled the aggregate score 1-1 with a 1-0 win in the return fixture at the Hamadi-Agrebi Stadium in Radès. Imed Farraj scored the opening goal in the eighth minute to level the aggregate score. Despite the loss of midfielder Abderrahmane Konaté to injury, Espérance maintained pressure throughout the match. With the regulation period ending in a stalemate, the match was decided by a penalty shootout. Espérance successfully converted three of their four penalty attempts, while Al-Suwaihli managed only one. This defeat ends the hopes of Al Swehly, including Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo, of progressing in the continental competition. This victory marks Espérance’s 24th qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage. The draw for the group stage is scheduled to take place in Cairo next week. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-23: Tunisia Ministry of Interior announces traffic measures for Espérance vs Al-Suwaihli match Tunisia's Ministry of Interior has announced traffic restrictions and parking plans for the Espérance vs Al-Suwaihli CAF Champions League match in Radès on October 24, 2026. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/tunisia-ministry-of-interior-announces-traffic-measures-for-esprance-vs-al-suwaihli-match ### 2026-10-23: Espérance de Tunis qualifies for CAF Champions League group stage Espérance de Tunis advanced to the CAF Champions League group stage after defeating Al Swehly on penalties following a 1-1 aggregate draw. 79 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/steirische-gebietsliga-ice-hockey-season-preview --- Cite as: Espérance de Tunis advances to CAF Champions League group.
