Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its flight network within the African continent. Starting in late October 2026, the airline will launch thrice-weekly passenger services to Nacala, Mozambique, marking its third destination in the country alongside Maputo and Beira. 

Following this, on December 11, 2026, the airline will introduce a daily non-stop service between Durban, South Africa, and Addis Ababa. Utilizing Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, this route is intended to improve connectivity for business, tourism, and freight in the KwaZulu-Natal province. Group CEO Mesfin Tasew stated the expansion aims to “bridge connectivity gaps and strengthen economic and diplomatic ties within the continent.”
