Cultural and culinary celebrations of Etruscan heritage continue to be highlighted through media coverage and local festivals in Italy. The Rai 1 television program ‘Gli Etruschi in tavola’ explores this legacy by featuring the thermal complex in San Casciano dei Bagni, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Pienza, and the artisan traditions of Cetona. The series also covers agricultural practices in Castiglione del Lago, such as the cultivation of ancient legumes, and the tradition of pairing Pienza pecorino cheese with Montepulciano Nobile wine, alongside the ‘Teatro Povero’ tradition in Monticchiello.

In Tarquinia, the 20th edition of the DiVino Etrusco festival recently concluded, marking a milestone for the event. Held at the Palazzo Vitelleschi (the National Archaeological Museum), the seven-day festival transformed the historic city center into a route for wine and local traditions. Curated by food journalist Carlo Zucchetti and supported by Fisar Tuscia Viterbese sommeliers, the event featured 54 wineries and over 100 wine labels.

While maintaining traditional selections from the ancient Etruscan Dodecapoli, the festival expanded its scope to include wines from Sicily, Sardinia, and Calabria, linking local identity to broader Mediterranean trade routes. The program integrated enogastronomy with history through guided tastings, live concerts, literary meetings, and exhibitions. Additionally, the celebration included ‘Tratti DiVini’, a watercolor workshop organized by Archeoares where participants used local wines as artistic pigments. The event also hosted a press tour for specialized food and wine journalists to visit local producers, reinforcing the festival’s status as a significant regional cultural and economic brand.
