An exhibition titled ‘I Colori che Ritornano. Un patrimonio ritrovato’ (The colors that return. A rediscovered heritage) is being held at the Castello di Santa Severa. The showcase features rare painted Etruscan terracotta slabs dating from the 6th and 5th centuries BCE.

The collection includes artifacts from ancient Caere that were recovered through investigations by the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the Guardia di Finanza. The exhibition also features 110 fragments returned to Italy from the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen as part of a 2016 cultural cooperation agreement.

These decorative slabs, which were used in continuous friezes to adorn building walls, reflect a highly Hellenized style. This artistic movement was influenced by the arrival of artisans from eastern Greece in Etruscan cities during the early 6th century BCE.
