To mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of Nobel laureate Eugenio Montale, several literary projects have been launched in the Liguria region of Italy to connect his poetry with local landscapes. In Genoa, the “Di Genova in Genova” project, promoted by the University and the Municipality of Genoa, has introduced itineraries such as “Genova di Montale.” These routes trace the poet’s life and work through various locations, supported by a digital guide and a dedicated web app. Additionally, Alessandro Ferraro has released a book titled “Genova di Montale” as part of this broader cultural initiative. In the Cinque Terre, the Parco Letterario Eugenio Montale and the Cinque Terre National Park are hosting “Le domeniche con Montale,” a series of literary walks in Monterosso designed to explore the connection between the poet’s work and the Mediterranean landscape. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-24: Genoa cultural exhibitions and literary guides explore city transformation Genoa hosts new cultural projects, including a Giorgio Bergami photography exhibition on urban change and a literary guide by Alessandro Ferraro exploring the city through the works of Eugenio Montale. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/genoa-cultural-exhibitions-and-literary-guides-explore-city-transformation ### 2026-10-10: Eugenio Montale literary tours launched in Genoa and Cinque Terre New literary itineraries in Genoa and the Cinque Terre celebrate the 130th anniversary of poet Eugenio Montale, linking his famous works to the Italian landscapes that inspired them. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/eugenio-montale-literary-tours-launched-in-genoa-and-cinque-terre --- Cite as: Eugenio Montale literary commemorations in Liguria.
