Portuguese diplomat Antero Lopes has officially assumed leadership of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), succeeding Giovanni Pietro Barbano. Lopes, whose mandate continues until June 14, 2027, emphasized the importance of an independent rule of law system to protect democratic institutions and support Kosovo’s European perspective.
