European Athletics has announced the nominees for its 2026 awards, including the European Athlete of the Year and the Rising Star awards for both men and women. 

Among the female Rising Star nominees are 17-year-old discus thrower Marina Hatzikosta, a European U18 champion and World U20 bronze medalist, and Greek athlete Eleni Iakovouki, a U18 European 400m champion and U20 World Championship bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles. Other notable nominees include Miltiadis Tentoglou in the men’s category.

Winners will be selected through a four-part voting process, with equal 25% weightings from the public, member federations, mass media, and a special European Athletics committee. The top three finalists in each category are scheduled to be announced on October 1, with the final Golden Tracks awards ceremony taking place on October 24 in Lausanne.
