European nations continue various initiatives to promote breast cancer awareness and support research through public displays and fundraising.

In Belgium, the nonprofit Pink Ribbon is leading the ‘Pink Illumination’ campaign, which involves lighting up town halls, public buildings, and monuments in pink to mark the launch of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on September 30. More than 80 municipalities are participating; for instance, Dessel will illuminate its water curtain at Campinaplein for at least 14 days. The campaign highlights that one in eight women and approximately one in 1,000 men will be affected by the disease.

In Denmark, organizations are conducting fundraising activities through ‘Pink Saturday’ events. In Hadsund, the Mariagerfjord branch of Kræftens Bekæmpelse is organizing a four-kilometer walk and bingo to fund research and prevention. In Hjørring, the Dansk Folkehjælp thrift store is supporting the ‘Støt Brysterne’ campaign. 

Further efforts in Aalborg include a ‘Pink Saturday’ event on October 3, serving as the culmination of a week-long campaign that featured the pink illumination of the Aalborg Tower. Organized by Kræftens Bekæmpelse, festivities at Gabels Torv include music, guided street art walks, and the sale of various products, with additional activities held in Hasseris to expand the reach of the fundraising efforts.
