The Poland and Italy Under-21 national football teams are competing for position in Group E of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027 qualifying tournament.

Poland recently secured a 3-0 victory against Sweden at the Arena Katowice, marking their ninth consecutive win. Bartosz Mazurek, playing in his debut, scored twice—including a technical strike from outside the penalty area in the 40th minute—while Daniel Bąk scored in stoppage time. This win maintains Poland’s perfect record, bringing their total to 27 points with a goal difference of 26:2.

Following the match, Mazurek expressed his ambition to earn a call-up to the senior national team during the November training camp, stating that he intends to “continue working hard to prove his quality.”

Despite squad shortages, coach Jerzy Brzęczek’s side dominated possession and physical play. Poland is now one step away from qualifying for the tournament, with their final decisive match scheduled against Italy on October 5 in Pescara.

Italy currently sits in second place, trailing Poland by three points. Coach Silvio Baldini has announced a 25-man squad for the decisive qualifying matches, including new call-ups Matteo Cichella, Mattia Liberali, Emanuele Lulli, and Luca Reggiani. The Azzurrini are scheduled to face Armenia in Yerevan before confronting Poland to determine qualification for the tournament in Albania and Serbia.
