The European Conference of Speakers of Parliament was held in Rome, co-organized by the Italian Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The summit convened parliamentary leaders to address threats to democracy, the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, and the renewal of a rules-based international order.

During the discussions, Slovenian National Assembly President Zoran Stevanović advocated for reforming the international order to address modern challenges, arguing that “double standards undermine the credibility of international law.” He called for a multilateralism that is more inclusive and democratically legitimate. Additionally, Marinko Čavara, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the need to respect the Dayton Peace Agreement and constitutional principles to achieve lasting political solutions.
