The European Darts Championship has various upcoming iterations scheduled. In October 2026, the championship is set to run from October 22 to October 25, featuring 32 seeded players and a prize pool of £750,000. This period also includes the Dutch Darts Championship at MECC Maastricht from October 16 to October 18.

On October 18, 2026, Niels Zonneveld won the Dutch Darts Championship in Maastricht, marking his first PDC European Tour title. In an all-Dutch final, Zonneveld defeated Danny Noppert 8-5. After trailing 2-0 early, Zonneveld rallied with five consecutive legs and a “crucial 157 checkout” to secure the win and qualification for the Grand Slam of Darts.

Following the conclusion of the Dutch event, the draw for the 2026 European Darts Championship in Dortmund has been finalized. Zonneveld is scheduled to face Cameron Menzies in the opening round. Other notable matchups include defending champion Gian van Veen against Andrew Gilding, and Michael van Gerwen against Kevin Doets. German competitors Martin Schindler and Niko Springer will also participate, with Schindler facing Wessel Nijman in the first round.

Looking further ahead, Billund has been selected by the European Darts Union to host the European Darts Championship in September 2028. This event is a collaborative effort between the Dansk Dart Union, Billund Municipality, and Sport Event Denmark, marking a return to Denmark 50 years after the inaugural Europe Cup in Copenhagen.
