The July and August 2026 schedule of European pétanque competitions continues to showcase high-level international play. 

The fifth annual Jersey International Open in St Helier saw more than 130 players from 37 clubs across Europe—including France, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, England, Scotland, Ireland, Jersey, and Alderney—competing in the British Isles. France’s Jeremy Le Marchand won the singles title after defeating England’s Steve Daykin, while former world champion Julian Lamour took third place. The doubles title was claimed by the French-Belgian pair Julian Lamour and Patrick Neuville. Organiser Toby Northern noted the high standard of play and confirmed plans for next year's event.

In France, the International de Pétanque in Espalion reached its semi-finals on 8–9 August, featuring elite matchups. A Thai team led by world champions Sriboonpeng and Khamdee advanced to face the French trio of Bonetto, Sarrio, and Montoro. Additionally, a team from Madagascar, including two 2024 world vice-champions, secured a semi-final spot against the trio of Helfrick, Capeleaud, and Constant.

Earlier summer events included the 2026 Masters de Pétanque fourth stage in Saint-Étienne (22–23 July), the sixth Mondial Jeunes in Romans-sur-Isère (22–26 July), and Marseille’s inaugural International Pétanque Day (17–19 July). In August, Montpellier hosted the first Odyssée des Nations (12–13 August) at the Sud de France Arena, which featured 96 teams in a Swiss-system format.
